Konnichiwa!

Welcome to my brand new, wasabi-infused, Hello Kitty approved blog!
This blog will serve as my online journal to document what will be my first year as a JET ALT in Oita Prefecture, Japan. If you're reading this, there is approximately a 100% chance that you already know me, and thus don't need me to introduce myself. But on the minute possibility that this statistic is wrong-- and that you-- dear reader, are not acquainted with me*, let me minimise the awkwardness by telling you a bit about myself...
*If you do know me, but are suffering from amnesia, or simply have a case of bad memory, this could also serve as a useful guide for rehashing those major details of my life.
My name is:
Thanks Google Images for that cultural information!
My (original) home is: Sydney, Australia
Yep, that's my home, just to the side of the bridge in a kangaroo's pouch.
My (former) job:
It's standard practice in all classrooms to have an apple on a chalkboard, next to some amazingly poetic prose such as "ABC"
I finished my Primary Education degree from Sydney University last year, and have been working as a casual/substitute teacher this year in a couple of schools. It has been the most incredible experience, and has reaffirmed my love of teaching.

Other stuff:
I love to laugh (manically most times), catch up with family and friends, eat, drink tea (my drug of choice), dance (badly), sing (even worse), read, listen to music and all that jazz.
If I were you, I'd make sure I'd had my daily hit of tea... or stay out of my way!
Bonus fact #1: My favourite Japanese foods are: Okonomiyaki, katsu don, nikujaga, ramen, nasu dengaku, karaage chicken, yaki soba, gyoza…ahh… I’m going to stop…
I'd marry you if I could, beautiful okonimiyaki.
Bonus fact #2: My most hated food is mushrooms.Especially shiitake mushrooms. Because the JET gods are a bit cruel, I have been sent to the place which manufactures the largest quantity of shiitake mushrooms in Japan. This should pose many interesting moments…
Please help. I am just having an aneurysm looking at this.
So please (I beg you) join me on my JET journey- let's get ready, JET set, and go!
