Before I die...

Hello everyone!

I hope you've had a nice and relaxing weekend!

I just wanted to share a video I watched which I thought was so heartfelt and inspiring.

Before I Die TED talk

To me, it's about recognising what you want in life, and doing it. Having a goal, and making sure you achieve it.

I think it's a very timely video, as lately, the topic of life dreams just wiggles it's way into conversations. More than not, it seems people hold a vision for themselves which they believe to be unattainable for some reason of another. They'd love to do it, but due to some form of constraint they can't. They may list factors such as money and time, which of course, are very reasonable barriers. But, I feel, the biggest thing that holds anyone back is their own self belief- or lack thereof.

No dream is too silly, too outrageous, too unattainable. You may not be able to have it realised in exactly the form you want, but, with effort and a strong will to succeed, you will get there in time!

I guess it's only fair to share my goal. Hmm, well, "Before I die..." I would like to:
  • Embrace opportunities that have come my way
  • Trust my instincts
  • Be a good friend and family member
  • Learn more about different cultures and lifestyles
  • Travel the world
  • Develop my linguistic skills in Japanese, and get to know more about my Maltese heritage
  • Meet a range of people from a range of backgrounds and get to know their life stories
  • Teach, give hope and equip the kids who are written off by many, but need support the most
  • Be generous with my physical stuff and things, and with the intangible I hold
  • Appreciate the little things in life
  • Change someone's life for the better
  • Love
  • Be wholeheartedly content with life and myself
  • Keep learning new things
A varied list, but one which I think, in time, is achieveable!

What things do you want to do before you die?
