Lantern Festival

Just back home from a lovely lantern festival held on the castle grounds in the middle of the city. It was super gorgeous- hundreds of lanterns lined the path- all designed by elementary and junior high school kids. They drew of their hopes, dreams and likes. It was so sweet to see so many kids dream for peace. And then, one kid dreaming of joining the army to defend Japan! Oh dear... There were also bamboo carved lanterns with intricate designs. It was a such a nice sight!
