Tok, yo! Day 3

Today was a very packed in day- I went to Asakusa Shrine (浅草神社) and then to Shibuya.

First the shrine. As I was staying in Asakusa, it was only meant to be a short walk. But, being me, I got lost and it took twice as long.

It was so crowded- I guess because it is said to be one of the Japanese people's favourite shrine.

The streets were lined with stalls selling osembe- Japanese. I was of course tempted!

Then to Shibuya, where I ate and shopped! Shibuya is a place heavy with commotion- everything is happening at once- I find its easy to feel disconnected as everyone seems to have somewhere to go, and you don't.

My tummy was feeling quite unwell, so for lunch I wanted something light. I had no idea what I was ordering- I knew it was sweet potato. I found a cute biodynamic cafe, and ordered SOMETHING with sweet potato. Luckily it turned out to be warm potato soup with lovely freshly baked bread.

And for dinner. My god. Best ramen! At a place called Ichiran ramen- #1 rated restaurant for Shibuya on Tripadvisor.

I got to choose all the different specifications- how much oiliness, garlic, soup broth test etc.

I had to line up in a line of 15 people, order my noodles from a vending machine and then everyone had to sit at individual stalls with a little window in front of your booth to the kitchen where you give your order to the staff.

Mmmm. Man, it was just divine. Yes, having a fatty broth with an upset stomach isn't very smart, but damn, when my mind was super happy, I think it somewhat cured it!a
