Arrival in Tokyo! What to do, what to do?
My mind: "I want to eat and shop".
Best to give it what it wants! I spent the day looking around Shinjuku, reacquainting myself with this buzzing, crazy place. Went to Uniqlo- the first of many visits- and stocked up on some winter clothes. Also went to Forever 21 which had my favourite shopping bargain- the unexpected one! When I went to the counter to buy my already 50%off items, it turned out they were another 50% off! Win!
Lunch at a Vietnamese place. It was alright. I was pretty disappointed because I was so looking forward to eating all the cuisines I can't get in Oita (and which are abundant in Sydney), yet during my trip I only had good to average meals. ざねん (too bad!)
Checked in at my super cute hostel, Retrometro Backpackers. Highly recommend it- the staff are helpful and kind, the whole place is so clean and the vibe is just so damn cool.
Met awesome English couple, Rochelle and Chris. We got chatting, turns out for the last 6months they'd been living in the same suburb in sydney as me. Small world!
We had dinner together at an okonomiyaki place. Was pretty great! Mine was Hiroshima style with yakiaoba noodles, fried egg, mochi, meat, and of course a crapload of sauce, mayo and aonori.
All in all, a pretty good first day in the big city!!

just posted it on fb for ya :D xx
